Helicopters have been a favourite for many of us ever since we watched a Wagner accompanied formation of choppers in Apocalypse Now or Airwolf take to the skies in the 80s programme of the same name.
In games helicopters offer a unique control method due to their ability to hover and fly straight up and down. Amiga games Jetstrike and Apocalypse feature helicopters controlled in this way.
Mission Underground is similar to Fortress Underground, a Kingsoft game on the Amiga and C64 that features a small helicopter navigating underground caverns. The challenge of Mission Underground comes from making tight turns in these caves, whilst at the same time rescuing little men and watching the ever-dwindling fuel supply.
Although small, Mission Underground is a self-contained game with appropriately dinky graphics and a decent challenge.
